Frequently Asked Questions
-
Limelight IPL is ideal for any part of your face, neck and décolleté. It can help to improve skin redness, tiny veins, brown spots or large pores. Light (low contrast) brown spots, which were previously difficult to resolve, respond very well to the treatment.
-
A Limelight Facial uses intense pulsed light (IPL) to heat and diffuse pigmented brown or red cells. Natural collagen production is encouraged by the Laser, the collagen subsequently evens out the skins tone and texture.
-
Within 1-3 weeks the darkened spots will flake off and fade. Diffuse redness or red veins will decrease and your complexion will improve. One to three treatments are usually sufficient to see results.
-
The treatment should take less than an hour depending on the area being treated. When the pulse of light is delivered, patients will experience a mild pinching or stinging sensation. As there is minimal discomfort anaesthetic is not required.
-
Immediately following the treatment brown spots will start to darken, your skin may appear slightly red and the treated area may be swollen. This typically lasts a few hours, possibly a day. Make up can be applied to cover the redness. A broad spectrum SPV/UVB sun screen is recommended.
