The Cutera CoolGlide system delivers pulses of light energy which causes the blood within the vein to coagulate, eventually destroying the vessel which will then be absorbed by your body. Blood flow will then be redirected to veins deeper below your skins surface, where it should be.

Spider veins and large blue leg veins can be treated with excellent results. Knotty varicose veins are not good candidates. Spider Naevi respond well to CoolGlide vein therapy, usually within one treatment.

Within 2 to 6 weeks of treatment, significant improvement will be visible. However, your final results may not be apparent for several months. On completion of a successful treatment, you can expect an improvement in the overall appearance of 60 – 80%. Whilst these symptoms can be treated there is no cure to prevent them from occurring again in the future

Many patients experience a stinging sensation as the pulses of energy are delivered through the handpiece. This handpiece has a cooling tip that cools the skin down to such a degree that it renders this procedure virtually painless. Following the treatment, pain is minimal to non-existent.

Most patients report few (if any) side effects. The most commonly noticed side effects are slight reddening and local swelling of the skin. Some patients may experience bruising, in rare instances, blistering may occur. These effects can last 1-7 days, rarely longer.
