PDO Thread Lifts

PDO thread lifting is ideal for anyone looking to lift and tighten loose and sagging skin on the face and neck without having cosmetic surgery. Thread lifts are a non-surgical procedure, re-defining facial contours and inducing natural collagen production. Thread lifts can be used to lift the upper and lower cheeks, foreheads, jawline, neck, jowls, naso-labial folds and marionette lines on the face.

Below are some frequently asked questions.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • We use 100% Polydioxanone threads which naturally absorb into the body over time. Once inserted into the skin they form a support structure that lifts and tightens loose or sagging skin.

  • The PDO threads are inserted using a needle; they then remain in the face which activates the skins natural regenerative process over time creating a tighter more toned appearance.

  • This can vary depending on the area being treated and the total number of threads used. Although results can be seen instantly, they gradually get better over time and are at their peak 6 months later when collagen has formed around the threads. Results generally last between 2.5 - 3.5+ years. Yearly follow-ups are an ideal way to optimise the effects, requiring less intervention on the subsequent visits.

  • Local anaesthetic is injected into the treatment area in order to minimise as much pain as possible and the procedure should only take around 60mins.

  • PDO thread lifting is a very safe procedure and complications are extremely rare. Minor complications may include temporary swelling and bruising. There may be minor bleeding immediately post-treatment. Patients may feel slight tightness or a pulling sensation following treatment but this will subside after approximately a week.

As this is a surgical procedure there is always a risk of infection. There may be a risk of small scars at the point of insertion.
