Thread Veins fAQs

  • Sclerotherapy is a safe and effective treatment for small veins and thread veins on the face and legs. These tiny red or blue blood vessels lie close to the skin’s surface. While they are usually harmless, they can sometimes cause discomfort or itching and are often removed for cosmetic reasons.

  • A special solution is injected directly into the targeted veins using a fine needle. This solution irritates the vein lining, causing the walls to collapse and seal shut. Over the following weeks, the body naturally absorbs the treated vein, and blood flow is redirected to deeper, healthier veins.

While treated veins should not return, new veins may develop in the same area over time due to factors such as genetics or lifestyle.

  • Results vary between clients. Some veins may disappear completely after one treatment, while others may only fade or require additional sessions. Most clients experience a 60–80% improvement in the treated area.

Although Sclerotherapy successfully treats existing veins, it cannot prevent new ones from forming in the future.

  • Most clients tolerate the procedure well. The solution may cause mild stinging or discomfort as it is injected, but this usually subsides within a few hours. Compression is applied after treatment to close the veins and support the healing process.

  • Sclerotherapy is considered very safe when performed by experienced practitioners. Mild swelling, redness, or bruising may occur after treatment but typically resolves within 1–4 days. All potential risks and aftercare instructions will be discussed during your initial consultation.
